Even if you’ve got a strong hand, the flop could do you harm. You might have a pair of kings, but if the flop comes up J-J-5, you’re in trouble.<\/p>\n
You might be able to bluff or fold, but it’s hard to do either of those things if you don’t have the right cards. You’ll have to decide if it’s worth it, or if the cards will just give someone else the chance they need.<\/p>\n
There are some emotions that can make a poker player lose their nerve: defiance and hope. These are the same feelings that can make someone hold a hand when they shouldn’t, and it’s hard to do that in a game with strong players.<\/p>\n
The best way to avoid these emotions is to develop a good poker strategy based on experience, and then to tweak it each time you play.
